The workshop is an intensive day learning all the best practices of how to learn to design for iOS Devices, going right from the basics of writing and preparing starter documents to the end files to send to developers. We'll be designing 5 different types of apps in small teams, with help, guidance and insider tips from Sarah as you go along.
Morning: Introduction to iOS Design / ADS Writing and Preparation / Wireframing, covering interaction design and planning / Design Session
Afternoon: Design Session continued / Designing the perfect icon / Preparing for Retina Display (iPhone 4, iPad 3) / Preparation of final documents for onward developers.
Sarah Parmenter is a User Interface designer specialising in iPhone and iPad UI Design. Sarah works as both a consultant and a designer to various brands in the UK and abroad as well as speaking at web related events worldwide. Sarah recently picked up the .net magazine award for "Designer of the Year".

Responsive design has made designing flexible websites fashionable again, but there's more to being fashionably flexible than technology or using CSS3 media queries.
So this unique workshop — hosted by Andy Clarke, designer, author and speaker — puts the design back into responsive design. Andy will teach you how to design from the "content out", instead of from the "canvas in".
He'll demonstrate how to separate design from layout and if you work with designs made in Photoshop, he'll show how to deconstruct a design into its components (color, texture and typography) before reassembling it for a fluid continuum of devices from, mobile phones to desktops and everything in between.
